Charities & Organisations

I have never lived in a place that has so many vibrant and active organisations which is directy attributable to all the wonderful volunteers across South Thanet and Sandwich. Having visited many of them, I come across the same issues; too much interference by government, a lack of certainty in funding and a government seemingly more concerned about administration than delivery. There is not much fun in filling out endless forms but there is much joy in working together to help others less fortunate than ourselves. I brought the Conservative Shadow Charities minister, Nick Hurd, to Thanet and Sandwich to talk to our local charities and explain how as a Government we would work with them to reduce the form filling and to support their essential work in our community.
